DHL Freight, one of the leading providers of road freight services in Europe, is investing in the training of new professional truck drivers. In 2012 the company plans to train a total of 100 learner drivers, with more than half of them beginning the program at the start of the year. At the end of the three-year training period the drivers will have a job opportunity - either with Deutsche Post DHL itself or one of its short-haul transportation partners.

Stefan Paul, CEO of DHL Freight Germany, explains: "At present, there is an obvious shortage of drivers in our sector. That's why we are now investing heavily in the training of younger drivers. For aspiring professional drivers, the DHL Freight training program is a wonderful opportunity, since our wide network of branches offers excellent employment prospects."

Exciting prospects for professional training and career development.

To ensure the success of this integrated training initiative, DHL Freight is collaborating closely with its short-haul transportation partners; also taking over the total costs of the program, setting up both the training contract and the basic curriculum.

The primary focus of the training for professional drivers is on the short-haul and long-haul transportation of goods, the scheduling of vehicles, and operations in logistics centers. As a leading provider of logistics services for all forms of land-based transportation (road, rail and intermodal/combined) in Europe, the CIS countries, North Africa and the Near East, DHL Freight offers interesting and exciting prospects for professional training and career development.
