Berlin, January 29, 2013 - DEAG Deutsche Entertainment AG (ISIN DE000A0Z23G6) acquires a 51 percent stake in handwerker promotion e. gmbh, one of the leading concert promoters in North Rhine-Westphalia, effective January 01, 2013. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. With handwerker promotion DEAG completes its presence as a local promoter - already represented in Berlin, Northern Germany, Bavaria and the Rhine-Main region - by adding an area of around 18 million people and secures a significant market share for itself in North Rhine Westphalia.

Moreover, the acquisition significantly increases the ticket volume within the DEAG Group and strengthens its position in the field of Ticketing and Distribution in cooperation with Ticketmaster Germany. This results directly in incremental earnings for DEAG. As far as handwerker promotion e. gmbh is concerned, the integration into the DEAG Group will lead to a considerable increase in sales revenues and profits. As a result of the acquisition, DEAG expects an additional profitable contribution to sales revenues on a clear double-digit million euro level already during the current year.

The founder of handwerker promotion, 56-year-old Fred Handwerker, will continue to work for the company on a long-term basis and develop handwerker promotion together with DEAG further in strategic terms as well as enhance the regional and national purchasing competency of the Group.

handwerker promotion - with highly profitable sales revenues of around EUR 10 million per year - has been a leading promoter in North Rhine-Westphalia for 20 years, boasting an extensive network and concerts in all major arenas and open-air sites. The company has been a long-standing partner of DEAG and its tour companies. Together with handwerker promotion, DEAG has organized primarily concerts in Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Oberhausen during the past years and developed many artists in North Rhine-Westphalia. As a result of the shareholding, concerts can now be added in cities like Cologne, Münster, Essen, Duisburg, Bochum and Mönchengladbach.

For 2013 many productions are already in advance sale in North Rhine-Westphalia with international artists such as Peter Maffay, David Garrett, Iron Maiden, Leona Lewis, Neil Young, Pur, Justin Bieber, Eric Clapton, Eros Ramazzotti, Meat Loaf and Leonard Cohen.
