Waltham, MA - Feb. 4, 2016 - The use of traditional, static permissions limits secure document collaboration and editing, making it ineffective at best. Because business demands, document permissions, and user profiles change constantly, IT cannot keep pace, resulting in either impeded user productivity, or a high risk of data loss or misuse. Today, Cryptzone, a provider of dynamic, context-aware network, application and content security solutions, announced a new release of Security Sheriff, the award winning data security solution that improves secure collaboration and editing, and makes it easier than ever to use Microsoft RMS.

Cryptzone Security Sheriff uses metadata-driven, item-level security to restrict access to, encrypt, track, and prevent the emailing of content based upon the presence of sensitive and/or non-compliant information, and offers content-aware data loss protection (DLP) capabilities for Microsoft SharePoint and Office 365.

'Cryptzone's granular approach to security controls access at the item level, and with Security Sheriff's improved dynamic content protection, collaboration is now more scalable, efficient and secure,' said Jason Garbis, Vice President of Products for Cryptzone. 'Implemented as an additional layer to traditional permissions, the automated policy protection rules are validated in real-time, and secure every user/application action against every type of information view, from any type of device and connection. This reduces IT cost, and mitigates the risk of breach, in a time when companies are collaborating with employees and vendors across the globe.'

In addition to improved secure collaboration, Security Sheriff 4.1 also includes:

- RMS Encryption integration: Integrating Security Sheriff with Azure and AD RMS removes barriers to the use of RMS by automating the otherwise static, user-driven process of document encryption. If a company uses RMS to manually encrypt documents (based on individual or group email addresses), Security Sheriff can now automate this process based on rules and policies.

- Secure Editing: This feature applies policy protection rules as users access documents. These rules trigger on-the-fly application of RMS encryption, locking documents to the editing user and controlling the user operations during editing (print, save as, copy and paste).

- User Activity Logging: As RMS Logging is now integrated into Security Sheriff User Activity Logging, customers have a single location for auditing that combines SharePoint actions and encryption using RMS.

Cryptzone provides dynamic, content-aware solutions for managing SharePoint and Office 365 content security and compliance to leading global corporations across a broad range of industries, as well as government agencies. Security Sheriff 4.1 is now available.
