Countryside, the UK's leading mixed-tenure developer, has acquired a new site at Cribbs Causeway near Bristol. It marks further positive steps in the company's growth ambitions for the South West, where it already has six sites across the region in Bath, Somerset and Swindon.

Terms have been agreed on the Cribbs Triangle site, located on the edge of North Bristol within South Gloucestershire. Outline Planning Consent has been granted to the site as part of a wider consented masterplan for up to 1,000 dwellings known as the Cribbs and Patchway New Neighbourhood (CPNN).

The Triangle site is independent to this major development, with the remainder of its land to be sold to Lidl to develop a new food store and transferred to South Gloucestershire Council for the development of a community facility. The site is located just 6 miles to the north-west of Bristol city centre and is adjacent to the A4018, one of Bristol's main arterial roads which connects to the M5.

Comprising 130 units, the development site will be dual tenure consisting of Private Rented Sector (PRS) and Registered Providers (RP).

Darren Dancey, Managing Director, South West, Countryside, commented, "We are extremely proud to have exchanged contracts on the Cribbs Triangle site near Bristol. This one has been a 'tough nut to crack' but all parties worked collaboratively and extremely hard to complete the deal.

We are pleased that all 130 units will be forward sold to our PRS and RP Partners who we are proud to work with.

The latest development is a testament to our commitment to the area and another positive step for Countryside as we expand our footprint in the South West region."
