City Holding Company reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended December 31, 2016. For the quarter, the company reported net interest income (FTE) was $30.638 million against $29.391 million a year ago. Net income available to common shareholders was $14.656 million or $0.97 diluted per share against $13.515 million or $0.88 diluted per share a year ago. Return on average assets was 1.49% against 1.48% a year ago. Return on average tangible equity was 16.1% against 15.5% a year ago.
For the year, the company reported net interest income (FTE) was $119.817 million against $115.856 million a year ago. Net income available to common shareholders was $52.128 million or $3.45 diluted per share against $54.097 million or $3.53 diluted per share a year ago. City National also provides mortgage banking services, trust, investment and custodial services, administration of personal trusts and estates, management of investment accounts for individuals, employee benefit plans and charitable foundations.
