Park in Inner Mongolia to become a National Mining Park

The board of directors and all directors of China Shenhua Energy Company Limited guarantee that the information set out in this announcement does not contain any false statements, misleading representations or material omissions, and severally and jointly accept responsibility as to the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of the content herein.

Recently, the Ministry of Land and Resources issued the "Notice on Approving the Eligibility of 16 National Mining Parks Including Woxi, Yuanling County, Hunan Province" (Guo Tu Zi Ting Han [2017] No. 1907), granting Zhunge'er Mining Park in Inner Mongolia the eligibility to become a national mining park. For mining parks that are eligible to become national mining parks shall complete the preparation and release of the layout of national mining parks as required and shall also complete the construction of mining parks within the prescribed timeframe and apply for the official naming in accordance with relevant procedures.

The Zhunge'er Mining Park in Inner Mongolia, which is located in the mining reclamation area of Heidaigou and Ha'erwusu Open-pit Mines at Zhunge'er Mines operated by China Shenhua Energy Company Limited, has a planned area of approximately 16.91km2. The mining park has been built on top of the existing national green mines with the theme of the vestiges and remainders of open-pit mines. By demonstrating the operation process of open-pit mining and the restoration and reclamation of mines, the park plans to showcase the mine vestiges remained in the Zhunge'er Mining Area amid the development of coalfields, the coordinated development between green mines and the modern sightseeing agriculture and animal husbandry so as to build a national mining park that integrates scientific research and science popularization of mines, tourism and recreation as well as ecological protection.
