Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging solutions, will showcase its award-winning imageFORMULA solutions at the West 2012 conference, co-sponsored by the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA) and the U.S. Naval Institute, January 24-26, 2012. The theme of this year's conference is "America's Military at the Crossroads: What's Out and What's in for 2012 and Beyond?" The exhibit, located in the Canon booth (#2031) at the San Diego Convention Center, will include a preview of the ScanFront 300/300P CAC PIV network scanner, a secure, full-featured and compact device that was designed to help improve the security of information being shared across government networks, while maintaining information quality, increasing manageability and lowering costs.

The Canon solutions on display during this year's show include:

  • imageFORMULA ScanFront 300/300P CAC PIV: The Canon ScanFront 300/300P CAC/PIV network scanners combine Common Access Card (CAC) and Personal Identification Verification (PIV) card support with networked document scanner functionality. CACs, issued by the Department of Defense (DoD), and other Personal Identification Verification (PIV)-compliant cards, are components of the federal government's initiative to control access to their facilities and information systems. The ScanFront 300/300P CAC/PIV scanners are designed to recognize these cards in order to comply with assurance policies and mandates for sending digital data. The ScanFront 300/300P CAC PIV will officially launch next week.
  • imageFORMULA DR-M160 Document Scanner: The Canon DR-M160 scanner has excellent performance and convenience. Scanning up to 60 pages-per-minute (ppm)1 /120 images per minute (ipm)1, and holding up to 60 sheets in the automatic document feeder, it quickly and effectively captures and stores business information, scanning both sides of a document in a single pass. And with an intuitive control panel to pre-program scan tasks, the DR-M160 scanner adopts and simplifies higher-end scanning features into a compact and easy-to-implement package.
  • imageFORMULA DR-C125 Document Scanner: The space-saving Canon DR-C125 scanner makes converting and capturing paper-based documents to digital format an ideal option for businesses. Delivering color, black-and-white and gray-scale scan speeds at up to 25 ppm1 and 50 ipm, the DR-C125 scanner reliably handles a wide variety of document types, including Long Document Mode for documents up to 118 inches in length, for example media records such as account logs. The scanner also features user-selectable paper paths for scanning items such as thick documents, plastic ID cards, embossed cards, and driver licenses.
  • imageFORMULA P-215 Mobile Document Scanner: The Canon P-215 scanner reflects Canon's imageANYWARE capabilities, helping to create a flexible corporate culture, allowing employees to work virtually any time or anywhere. The P-215 measures only 11 inches long, weighs just over two pounds and incorporates an automatic document feeder (ADF) in a sleek design. To complement the ADF, this scanner also includes an integrated card scanner, capable of handling plastic ID cards, driver licenses and embossed cards. Using electrical power via a single USB cable, the P-215 scanner can scan a batch of up to 20 documents at its maximum scanning speed of up to 15 pages-per-minute (ppm)1 in color or black and white and yet still easily fits into a briefcase for portability and convenience.
