Camil Alimentos S.A. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended August 31, 2022. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was BRL 3,060.8 million compared to BRL 2,515.3 million a year ago. Revenue was BRL 2,696.5 million compared to BRL 2,218.5 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 93.9 million compared to BRL 106.5 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 0.26.
For the six months, sales was BRL 5,812 million compared to BRL 5,088.7 million a year ago. Revenue was BRL 5,093.1 million compared to BRL 4,475.7 million a year ago. Net income was BRL 190.7 million compared to BRL 214.7 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was BRL 0.53.
Camil Alimentos SA is a Brazil-based company primarily engaged in the food processing sector. The Company focuses on the manufacture and commercialization of rice, rice crackers, beans, peas, chickpeas and lentil seeds, soybean-based meals, popcorn, sugar and seafood, among others. The Company's products are distributed under various brand names, including Camil, Pescador, Coqueiro, Uniao, Barra, Dolce, Namorado, Butui, Bonzao, Neve and Ducula in Brazil; Saman in Uruguay; Tucapel in Chile, as well as Costeno and Paisana in Peru. The Company operates grain processing units, fish processing plants and sugar mills. The Company controls a number of subsidiaries, such as Camil Internacional Argentina SA, Carreteiro Industria e Comercio de Alimentos Ltda and Ciclo Logistica Ltda.
