Stock Exchange and Media Release 24 January 2012 BRAMBLES APPOINTS DOUG DUNCAN AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Brambles Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Doug Duncan as a Non-executive Director, bringing substantial US business and international transport and logistics experience to the company's Board.
Brambles Chairman Graham Kraehe said: "We are delighted Doug has joined us. As the former President & CEO of FedEx Freight, he has extensive experience that is relevant to Brambles. His appointment, together with those of Tahira Hassan and David Gosnell last month, completes the process commenced by the Board in early 2011 to enhance the diversity and international supply chain, logistics and fast-moving consumer goods skills, knowledge and experience available to the Brambles Board."
Mr Duncan's role as President & CEO of FedEx Freight from 2001 to 2010, when he retired, was the culmination of a distinguished career in the transport and logistics industry over 30 years. Prior to that role, he spent more than 20 years with the company that ultimately became Viking Freight, where he held senior executive roles including President & CEO from 1998 to 2001, when FedEx acquired Viking.
Mr Duncan is based in the USA and is currently a member of the Board of JB Hunt Transport Services, one of the largest transport logistics companies in North America, at which he is a member of the Audit and Governance Committees. He is also on the Board of Benchmark Electronics, at which he is the Chairman of the Nominating & Governance Committee and a member of the Audit Committee.
Mr Duncan's appointment takes effect from today and he will offer himself for election to Brambles
Board at the company's next AGM in October 2012.
