Boursorama Banque makes life easier for its customers with an exclusive feature on its new NFC bank cards

Boulogne-Billancourt, 1 July 2013 - Boursorama Banque, France's online bank of reference with more than 440,000 customers, is bringing a technological innovation to bank cards.

The bank card offered by Boursorama Banque now incorporates an exclusive feature allowing cardholders to activate or deactivate the NFC (Near Field Communication) contactless payment technology whenever they want, wherever they want.
The NFC technology allows cardholders to make "contactless" payments for everyday purchases under €20, avoiding the need to insert the bank card into the terminal or enter their PIN, as long as the merchant is equipped with an NFC-compatible Electronic Payment Terminal (EPT). Increasingly widespread around the world, the use of the "contactless" bank card is also growing at the national level: nearly 11 million bank cards are NFC1 in France, representing 17 per cent of all cards in
France.
"We are the first bank in France to give our customers the choice of activating the 'contactless' payment feature themselves," according to Marie Cheval, Boursorama's CEO.
This innovation rounds out the services offered by Boursorama Banque to simplify the life of its customers in using their bank card, particularly with:

- A new personalised alert that immediately warns customers by SMS when they reach 80% of their authorised spending or withdrawal limit;

- A personalised alert that warns customers by SMS for any transaction over €200;

- The freedom to check their authorised spending and withdrawal limit in real time and increase it as needed, even from a mobile phone;

- The freedom to add alerts based on their needs;

- The choice of the visual image on the bank card.

The bank card and all of its exclusive services are free, even for both holders of a joint account. Boursorama Banque is regularly recognised as the "least expensive" bank2. Its customers enjoy more than 15 free services, including unlimited cash withdrawals from all ATMs in France.
