BMW has introduced a subtle array of mid-life cycle revisions to its strong selling 4-Series. One of the biggest changes to the appearance of the car is that the revised version now has LED highlights as standard to replace the xenon units, while there is also a new LED rear light design that has been added to enhance the car's appearance and give it a more contemporary look. There are also modified front intakes and a new front apron design, new wheel designs and three new interior trim finishes, and two brand new colours: Rocks Blue and Sunset Orange. The revised 4-Series also has new engine options, with the entry-level model remaining the 420i with a 2-litre gasoline (petrol) engine developing 184 bhp. There are two new nameplates, with the 430i and the 440i replacing the 428i and 435i respectively. The diesel-engined options remain the 420d, 430d, 435d xDrive, although a new option has been added to the 4-Series Gran Coupe range in the form of 418d.
