Biosearch Life participated yesterday in the annual event 'Regional Policy and European Funds' which aims to raise awareness of actions considered as good practice.

The event, held at the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid, was attended by different personalities and professionals in these funds, both at the level of Autonomous Communities, Ministries, Intermediate Bodies, and the European Commission.

Biosearch Life was selected by the Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI), as a representative of a performance considered good practice and co-financed with FEDER funds , through the R&D project 'ATENA: The olive oil and other healthy fats Application Technologies for processing into high value-added products.'

This project, led by Biosearch Life, was approved in the 2013 call, from the Feder Innterconecta Programme for Andalusia. In the consortium also participated four biotech companies and Spanish food companies (South-Coosur Oils S.A., Ingeniatrics Technologies S.L., Phytoplant Research S.L. and Penalva Food S.A. (Ice Nordwik)) as well as other public research organizations.

The main aim of this initiative has been the development of innovative technologies for the production of oils and fats with nutritional and technological improvements that can be incorporated into a variety of food products as healthy alternatives to processed products with high fat saturated, harmful to health, present in the market today.

This event was organized by the General Administration of Community Funds of the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration, in order to publicize measures part-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) in Spain, considered as good practice.
