Bellway Homes have broken ground on their second site in Kidderminster. The site on Clensmore Street was a derelict former industrial estate and will accommodate 223 homes of which 49 affordable homes will be sold to the Community Housing Group.

The first phase of development will start imminently and Bellway expect to open a sales cabin during the spring.

The development, named Keepers Lock after its Strafford & Worcester canal frontage will provide a range of 1, 2, 3, and 4 bedroom homes to suit a wide variety of buyers who are at different points in the housing market, the homes are expected to start in price from around £95,000.

Bellway's Regional Managing Director, David Campbell-Kelly, said: "Our first site in Kidderminster, Honeybrook has been extremely popular and we have every confidence in Keepers Loch. The site has been derelict for some time and the development will enable us to return an otherwise redundant area back to community use and enhance the local area, many residents have voiced their approval of this new development.
