- Bekaert in TIME's Top 500 of the World's Most Sustainable Companies of 2024
Bekaert is considered one of the 10% most sustainable companies in the world! For the first time ever, American magazine TIME, in collaboration with data firm Statista, has released a list of 500 companies excelling in sustainability. This comprehensive evaluation of over 5,000 of the world's largest and most influential companies highlights those making significant strides for the earth. We are proud that Bekaert has earned this prestigious recognition, as our products and services support our customers around the globe achieving their sustainability goals as well.
TIME magazine and Statista, a leading statistics and industry ranking provider, employed a rigorous methodology to identify the world's most sustainable companies for 2024. This process involved assessing the sustainability goals and progress of 5,000 companies, focusing on both environmental and social aspects on more than 20 key data points. External ratings and commitments from reputable organizations such as Science Based Targets were considered, and high standards were applied to metrics including Scope 1 and 2 emissions, energy consumption, emissions reductions in 2021 and 2022, and proportion of renewable energy used. Based on this assessment, Bekaert was included in the top 10% in the world, reflecting Bekaert's significant achievements in these areas.
