AV specialist and Barco partner Telmaco has received the 2021 Inavation Award for the best Control Room project of 2021. The award presented by Inavate Magazine went to a Barco renovation of three utility control centers of Greek grid operator IPTO/ADMIE.

The winners of the 2021 Inavation Awards were announced on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Due to the ongoing global pandemic, the event was held online for the first time. The Inavation Awards celebrate achievements across the breadth of the AV industry and are the benchmark for Systems Integrators, Consultants and Technology Managers throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and beyond.

Officials at the Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO - ADMIE in Greek) realized that their three utility control rooms no longer met 21st-century standards. Until recently, operators were looking at mimic panels with lamp indications and hardwired alarms.

By installing Barco's LED-lit rear-projection video walls and Transform N video wall controllers, Telmaco has enabled IPTO to make a giant technology leap. Operators can now monitor their SCADA applications in all confidence. Changing network layouts is easy, and Barco's networked visualization is future-proof, because it allows control room management to insert new sources or technology when needed.

Barco Solutions:
Three control rooms each equipped with 8x3 OVL-815 video wall and Transform-NSD-410 video wall controllers.
