Opcapita Consumer Opportunities Fund, L.P., fund of OpCapita LLP agreed to acquire La Sirena Alimentación Congelada, S.L.U. from a group of managers backed by a consortium of banks including Ramona Solé and Josep Cernuda and Agrolimen for €45 million on November 3, 2014. The consortium includes Banco Santander, S.A. (CATS:SAN), Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (CATS:BBVA), Banco Espírito Santo, S.A. (OTCPK:BKES.F), Coöperatieve Centrale Raiffeisen-Boerenleenbank B.A., Natixis S.A., Bank of America Merrill Lynch International Limited, BlueBay Asset Management (Services) Ltd. As per the agreement, Stephen Alexander, Operating Partner at OpCapita will become chairman of La Sirena. The deal is still subject to approval by the competition authorities and is expected to secure the same in the coming weeks.

Carmen Burgos, Alfonso O'Donnell, Pedro de Rojas and Patricia Alvarez of Linklaters Slp acted as legal advisor to Banco Espirito Santo, SA., Rabobank NV, Banco Santander, S.A., Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria S.A, and Natixis SA.
