B&M European Value Retail S A : Boosts Local Economy with New Store in Kingswood, Bristol

The B&M Bristol team were thrilled to open their brand-new Kingswood store this morning at 8am on Friday 14th June.

After taking possession of a previous Wilko, the store has undergone an extensive refurbishment programme to bring an exciting space of 16,152sqft for customers to shop around, while providing 43 jobs for local people.

The store manager from B&M Bristol said: "We're feeling extremely positive about the creation of more jobs for local people, and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store."

For the launch ceremony, store colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves the spotlight for all the hard work they do in the community. They chose the team from South & East Bristol Foodbank to take centre stage and officially open the brand-new B&M store.

South & East Bristol Foodbank were founded by local churches and community groups, working together towards stopping poverty and hunger in the local area. They don't think anyone in the community should have to face going hungry. To help solve this, South & East Bristol Foodbank provide three days' nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. They are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by the Trussell Fund, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.

B&M's store manager also commented: "South & East Bristol Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them continue the great work they do."

With help from the South & East Bristol Foodbank unveiling the store, the B&M team welcomed customers through the doors to explore the great range of products now available at their fingertips.
