ASUS today announced the 24-inch VG248QE Fast Gaming Monitor, the world's first 144Hz rapid refresh -rate display with 1ms (GTG) response time for Full HD gaming at very high frame rates. Reduced motion blur and input lag times deliver smoother visuals, giving gamers a competitive edge in first-person shooter, racing and real-time strategy games. The VG248QE also immerses gamers in a stereoscopic 3D world, thanks to NVIDIA® 3D Vision® 2* support. In addition, exclusive ASUS innovations like an 80,000,000:1 Smart Contrast Ratio, 350cd/m² brightness and Splendid™ Video Intelligence Technology ensure a sharp, vivid image. The VG248QE is the latest addition to the ASUS gaming monitor lineup. These include the ultra-high refresh rate VG236H, VG278H, and VG278HE monitors with NVIDIA® 3D Technology, and the VG23AH and VG27AH FPR (film-type patterned retarder) 3D monitors.
Ultra-smooth action
The ASUS VG248QE has native support for frame rates up to 144 frames-per-second (FPS) for smooth gameplay. By controlling voltage levels that drive the liquid crystal display, the VG248QE delivers a 1ms (GTG) response time to eliminate tracers and ensure fluid video playback. Shorter input lags mean frames are rendered onscreen more rapidly, and a lower latency gives gamers a chance to improve their in-game response times. Motion blur from conventional 60Hz displays often detract from the immersive experience of faster-paced games and the VG248QE reduces motion blur to deliver a noticeable visual improvements.
Exclusive ASUS innovations for vivid visuals
With an 80,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio (ASCR) and 350cd/m² of brightness, the ASUS VG248QE delivers life-like visuals at a Full HD, 1920 x 1080, resolution by adjusting backlight luminance to achieve the darkest black and brightest white shades. ASUS Splendid™ Video Intelligence Technology ensures vivid colors for onscreen content too, with six different modes (Game, Standard, sRGB, Scenery, Theater and Night View) accessible with a designated hotkey.
Enhancing the gaming and multimedia experience
The ASUS VG248QE features the ASUS-exclusive GamePlus hotkey with onscreen aimpoint (crosshair) and timer functions. Gamers can select four different types of aimpoint to suit the gaming environment, while the timer keeps players aware of elapsed time in real-time strategy games. These tools allow gamers to practice and improve their gaming skills.
The VG248QE is compatible with the NVIDIA® 3D Vision® 2 kit* through DisplayPort and dual-link DVI, and supports up to three Full HD displays for an immersive multi-display 3D gaming experience. DisplayPort, HDMI, and Dual-link DVI-D ports ensure extensive connectivity and compatibility with a variety of multimedia devices, including Blu-ray players and game consoles, while built-in 2W stereo speakers further add to the complete home entertainment experience.
The ASUS VG248QE's ergonomic design provides users with a comfortable viewing position with swivel, tilt, pivot and height adjustments, while the integral cable management feature ensures a clutter-free desktop.
