Arcadis NV announced the appointment of Zachary A. Smith, P.E., as chief strategy and sales officer for ARCADIS U.S, the operating company in the United States. Curt A. Cramer, P.G., will succeed him as the president of the company's Environment Division. As chief strategy and sales officer, Smith is responsible for driving firmwide strategies to promote organic growth. He will focus on expanding its industrial, federal and local government markets and manage communication and branding activities for the U.S. operations overall. As Environment Division president, Cramer will develop strategy and lead implementation for the division within the areas of operational excellence, client development, technical knowledge and innovation, and health and safety. Prior to serving as president of the ARCADIS U.S. Environment Division, Smith served as the operations director for that division and as client development director for the U.S. Infrastructure Division. He is a Professional Engineer and holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in environmental engineering from the University of Florida. Cramer will continue in his role as director of operations for the U.S. Environment Division and as the U.S. representative to the Global Business Line team for Environment. He previously served as director of the Client Development and Technical Knowledge and Innovation groups for the U.S. Environment Division. He is a Certified Professional Geologist and a member of the Association of Ground Water Scientists and Engineers, and the American Institute of Professional Geologists. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Allegheny College.
