Indianapolis, IN. The American Basketball Association (ABA) today announced that it has added the New Jersey Knights located in

Northern New Jersey to its record-setting expansion for the season starting in November. 'We're very pleased to add another team

to our great Northeast Division,' stated ABA CEO Joe Newman. 'In Robert Whetham, we have an owner with excellent experience on

and off the court having been a part of the Jersey Express organization, the ABA's oldest and one of its most successful teams.'

Whetham played at William Paterson University before turning to the airwaves as a radio/TV sportscaster. 'I learned a lot about

what to do on and off the court from Marsha Blount and am going to apply those same principles to the New Jersey Knights,' added

Whetham. 'Owning a professional sports team is something I've wanted to do and the ABA is the perfect league to do it.'
