Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE:AMRC):
WHAT:
The Town of Natick, officials from local schools and the general
government will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Ameresco
executives and representatives from the Massachusetts Department of
Energy Resources (DOER) to recognize a solar initiative at six of
the Town's buildings.
As part of the event, Ameresco will unveil the solar kiosk at the
Wilson Middle School. Similar installations are also underway at the
Kennedy Middle School, Bennett-Hemenway Elementary School, new
Natick High School, Memorial Elementary School and the new Natick
Community Senior Center.
The rooftop covered by solar panels is approximately 417,000 square
feet, and once all three phases are complete, the project is
expected to generate 1.07 MW of power. Phases 1 and 2 alone are
expected to offset 46% of the schools' energy use (as compared to
usage between July 2010 and June 2011), which will reduce the Town
of Natick's energy costs while also providing educational
opportunities for its students and reduce GHG emissions by 474 tons
annually.
