Audible, Inc., the world’s largest seller and producer of downloadable audiobooks and other spoken-word content, today announced the release of Portlandia Travelogue: The Brussels to Antwerp Express. Created exclusively for Audible, this fifteen-minute-long recording features an unforgettable performance by Emmy Award-nominated actor Fred Armisen as Candace Deveraux, the beloved feminist bookstore owner from IFC’s Portlandia. This audio tie-in, which anticipates the sixth season of Portlandia premiering on IFC on January 21st, is now available as a free download exclusively at audible.com/FredArmisen. Portlandia Travelogue will remain free on Audible for the duration of Portlandia’s sixth season.

“We are thrilled to partner with IFC to provide our customers with this exclusive Portlandia audio production,” said Audible EVP and Publisher Beth Anderson. “This hilarious audio companion demonstrates our commitment to innovative listening experiences, and we’re delighted to be able to continue to draw talented writers and performers like Fred Armisen to the unique challenges and pleasures of audio performance.”

“This creative partnership was a first for IFC, and Audible was the perfect partner for the unveiling of Candace Deveraux’s erotic journeys,” said Blake Callaway, EVP, Marketing, IFC. “Candace’s sensual voice will finally be heard through the reach of this project.”

Emmy Award-nominated Portlandia returns to IFC for its highly anticipated sixth season on Thursday, January 21st at 10 p.m. ET/PT for ten all-new episodes. Created by Fred Armisen, Carrie Brownstein, and Jonathan Krisel, the series continues to explore the eccentric misfits who embody the foibles of modern culture. Portlandia is executive produced by Lorne Michaels and produced by Broadway Video.

In addition to Armisen, among the acclaimed performers who have narrated for Audible are Dan Stevens, James Franco, Jesse Eisenberg, Jake Gyllenhaal, Kate Winslet and Tim Robbins. In 2013, Audible Studios won its first Grammy Award, for its production of Janis Ian’s memoir Society’s Child, and is nominated again this year in the same category for Patience and Sarah, also performed by Janis Ian along with Jean Smart. In 2013, Audible Studios also won the Audie Award for Audiobook of the Year, for Colin Firth’s performance of Graham Greene’s The End of the Affair.

Among the other audio-exclusive programming related to popular television shows that can be found exclusively at Audible are Homeland: Phantom Pain, a thirty minute story performed by Damian Lewis as Nicholas Brody that picks up at the end of Homeland’s second season, and Transparent: Behind the Scenes, a series of interviews with the show’s cast and crew that provide the inside scoop on the creation and production of Transparent. In 2015, Audible also released an audio dramatization of IDW’s critically acclaimed graphic novel Locke & Key, performed by Haley Joel Osment, Tatiana Maslany, Kate Mulgrew, and a cast of over 50 voice actors including state-of-the-art sound design and an original score.

Audible invented and commercialized the first digital audio player in 1997, and has since been at the forefront of the explosively growing audiobook download segment. In 2015, listeners around the world downloaded 1.6 billion hours of audio from Audible.com outlets; Audible members downloaded an average of more than 17 books over the course of the year. Two thirds of new Audible members are first-time audiobook buyers.
