Carrier Adds New International Flying in Time for the Holidays

ORLANDO—August 17, 2011—Dreaming of spending the holidays on the beach? Baltimore travelers now have new options to head south for the winter! AirTran Airways announced today that the carrier will add a new nonstop destination from Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) with Saturday and Sunday service to Aruba (AUA). For sale beginning today, AirTran’s new BWI-AUA service will begin on Dec. 17, 2011. The airline is celebrating the new route with a special fare of $159 one-way for travel between Dec. 17, 2011, and March 14, 2012. Customers must book this super low fare by Sept. 16, 2011, at www.airtran.com.

BEGINNING DEC. 17, 2011 (open for sale today):

  • One new nonstop roundtrip between Baltimore and Aruba.

The new nonstop flight will add to the breadth of service AirTran Airways currently operates out of BWI. Customers can currently fly nonstop between BWI and Bermuda, Montego Bay, Cancun, Nassau/Paradise Island, and San Juan.

Fare Rules

Fares are available on www.airtran.com and are available for purchase today through Sept. 16, 2011, 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time. Fares are available for travel between Dec. 17, 2011, and March 14, 2012.

Blackout dates are as follows:

To AUA: 12/24, 1/14, 1/15, 2/18, 2/19.

From AUA: 12/31, 1/1, 1/7, 1/21, 2/25, 2/26

Sale fares are valid for travel only on Saturdays and Sundays. All fares are one-way. Fares shown do not include Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 roundtrip. The September 11th security fee of up to $10 roundtrip is not included. Fares do not include segment taxes of $3.70 per segment. A segment is defined as a takeoff and a landing. Fares to/from Bermuda, Mexico, and the Caribbean do not include additional government taxes of up to $100. All fares are non-refundable and a $75 fee per person applies to any change made after purchase, plus any applicable increase in airfare. Seats are limited, subject to availability, and may not be available on all flights. Service on some itineraries may be provided by our partner SkyWest Airlines. A first bag may be checked for a fee of $20 each way and a second bag may be checked for a fee of $25 each way. Reservations may be made via AirTran Airways Telephone Reservations Center for a fee of $15. Reservations may also be changed via AirTran Airways Telephone Reservations Center for a $15 fee plus any applicable change fees and fare differences.
