Air Canada reported traffic results for the month, fourth quarter and year to date ended December 2012. For the month, the company reported a record system load factor of 82.1%, against 81.0% in November 2011, an increase of 1.1% points. System traffic increased 3.2% to 4,394 million RPMs from 4,256 million RPMs for the same period last year. System-wide capacity increased 1.8% to 5,349 million ASMs from 5,253 million ASMs for the same period last year.

For the quarter, the company reported load factor of 81.2% against 78.9% a year ago. RPM was 12,574 million against 12,064 million a year ago. ASM was 15,485 million against 15,290 million a year ago.

For the full year 2012, load factor was a record 82.7%, versus 81.6%, an increase of 1.1 percentage points. Air Canada reports traffic results on a system-wide basis, including regional airlines from which Air Canada purchases capacity. System traffic increased 2.6% to 55,646 million RPMs from 54,223 million RPMs for the same period last year. System-wide capacity increased 1.2% to 67,271 million ASMs from 66,460 million ASMs for the same period last year.
