AEA's Resource Efficiency and Waste Management Principal Consultant, Sarahjane Widdowson, is to present at this year's RWM Conference, taking place on 11 - 13 September at NEC Birmingham, UK.

RWM in partnership with CIWM is a leading European event for resource efficiency and waste management. It attracts over 14,000 visitors each year and explores the latest industry developments that affect everyone from local authorities and landfills to retailers and recycling consultants.

Sarahjane joins a high profile speaker line up and will discuss 'The barriers to waste infrastructure and how they can be overcome.' She will draw on her recent experience of supporting the ground-breaking European Pathway to Zero Waste (EPOW) programme. EPOW is a WRAP and Environment Agency programme, supported by the European Commission's LIFE+ funding stream. It aims to help demonstrate the route to zero landfilling of all waste streams in the South East of England.

Sarahjane has led an AEA team helping the programme to address its current priority of exploring how the development of waste infrastructure can be de-risked and supported through enhanced partnership working. She joins the debate at RWM equipped with the insight gleaned from this work and particular, from running 16 stakeholder workshops where over 300 planners, representatives of the investment community, waste management contractors, local authority officers, policy makers (government and sub-regional) and representatives of waste-producers debated the challenges of delivering waste infrastructure projects.

Sarahjane is a resource efficiency and waste management consultant at AEA. She specialises in waste policy, engagement and training projects, has produced a range of guidance documents for WRAP, and has helped several local authorities achieve partnership working in waste management. Visitors to RWM 2012 can catch her presentation on Tuesday 11 September at 14:00 in the Commerce and Industry Theatre.

RWM is free to attend. For further information and to register for a place, please visit http://www.rwmexhibition.com/
