The RAC Foundation and the UK Petroleum Industry Association have together commissioned AEA to write a high profile new report examining future low carbon vehicles and fuels. The report will focus on the passenger car sector in the UK and aims to provide an easy to read and accessible summary of the various technologies and fuels which are likely to be on the UK's roads in the years through to 2050.

A particular requirement is the need to try to quantify the potential for CO2 savings and the likely future market shares of the various technology and fuel options. The report will be published on the RAC Foundation's website and disseminated in the media and among interested parties in government and industry.
