Adani Power Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated and standalone earnings results for third quarter and nine months ended Dec. 31, 2016. For the quarter, the consolidated company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 58,035.200 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 10,413.00 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 3,296.300 million, net loss of INR 3,236.100 million or INR 0.93 per basic and diluted share, compared to the net sales/income from operations of INR 61,840.800 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 13,951.600 million, profit from ordinary activities before tax of INR 964.300 million, net profit of INR 1,094.900 million or INR 0.37 per basic and diluted share, for the same quarter a year ago. EBITDA was INR 17,080 million against INR 20,300 million a year ago.
For the year to date, the consolidated company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 171,451.200 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 35,915.400 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 5,390.600 million, net loss of INR 4,682.200 million or INR 1.38 per basic and diluted share, compared to the net sales/income from operations of INR 178,629.500 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 36,162.300 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 7,103.600 million, net loss of INR 4,614.00 million or INR 1.57 per basic and diluted share, for the same period a year ago.
For the quarter, the standalone company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 28,865.600 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 1,339.200 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 4,783.600 million, net loss of INR 4,783.900 million or INR 1.38 per basic and diluted share, compared to the net sales/income from operations of INR 30,657.700 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 5,457.100 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 302.400 million, net loss of INR 302.400 million or INR 0.1 per basic and diluted share, for the same quarter a year ago.
For the year to date, the standalone company reported net sales/income from operations of INR 85,810.500 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 10,724.600 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 7,023.900 million, net loss of INR 6,191.600 million or INR 1.83 per basic and diluted share, compared to the net sales/income from operations of INR 90,596.200 million, profit from operations before other income and finance costs and exceptional items of INR 14,799.00 million, loss from ordinary activities before tax of INR 3,390.300 million, net loss of INR 1,201.400 million or INR 0.41 per basic and diluted share, for the same period a year ago.
Adani Power Limited is an India-based private-sector thermal power producer with an operating and upcoming capacity of approximately 16.85 gigawatts (GW). The Company, together with its subsidiaries, has multiple power projects located at various locations with a combined installed and commissioned capacity of 15,250 megawatts (MW) and another 1,600 MW under construction phase.
