1. VILLERE & CO, PORTFOLIO MANAGER, LAMAR VILLERE, SAYING:

JOURNALIST ASKING LAMAR VILLERE: 'It has been a very interesting start to the markets, a very volatile start to the year. Your balance fund has small caps; small caps were not strong performers last year. So why should investors think that is going to change this year?'

VILLERE: 'Sure, so one of the things we saw last year was the sectors that did really well were kind of the areas filled with large very defensive heavy dividend paying stocks, essentially more like bonds than stocks. So utilities for example had a banner year last year. That is not where we are, we are not looking for today's very mature company that is paying dividends, we are looking for the smaller 'growthier' stocks and I think that is what investors are going to come back to this year where they can really get some good value.'

JOURNALIST: 'Will they really come back to growth with all this caution that we are seeing?'

VILLERE: 'I think obviously people are going to be cautious but right now the stock markets about the only game in town and it is going to be difficult to justify buying some of these large cap stocks that have had such a big run that there is almost no way that you can get great performance out of them and now the dividend yields aren't that attractive any more since the stocks have come up. So we really think small 'growthier' names are the better place to be.'
