3D Systems Corp. introduced the ChefJet series of 3D printers, launching an entirely new 3D printer category of professionally-certified, kitchen-ready 3D printers for edibles. The first two printers in the series are the monochrome, countertop ChefJet 3D printer and the full-color, multi-flavor ChefJet Pro 3D printer.

Both printers are predicted to be the must-have tool for the professional baker, cake master, and high-end event and restaurateur markets. Equipped with The Digital Cookbook, easy to use ChefJet software for the non-CAD user, the ChefJet printer series easily enables stunning edible prints to be incorporated into any professional kitchen. The ChefJet series of printers will be showcased for the first time at the 2014 International CES in Las Vegas, NV, January 7-10, 2014, at the 3DS booth, LVCC South Hall 31424.

The ChefJet 3D printer is a monochrome, countertop-sized printer with a generous build volume of 8x8x6" making it ideal for single color and single flavor candies and cake toppers. ChefJet printable materials come in a variety of flavors including chocolate, vanilla, mint, sour apple sugar and cherry sugar. ChefJet is expected to be available in the second half of 2014 and will be priced in the sub-$5,000 range.
