YAOUNDE, Cameroon--Cocoa prices hit a record high at Cameroon's leading port of Douala, driven by short supply, according to data released Monday by the country's National Cocoa and Coffee Board.

Exporters paid 2,050 CFA francs ($3.41) for a kilogram of cocoa, up 3.2% from Friday, the NCCB figures showed.

Cocoa is in between the mid-crop and main crop harvests, so supply at the port is weak.

Meanwhile, prices paid at the country's farmgates remained flat for a fourth consecutive week, at XAF1,375 in the leading cocoa-growing Centre Region and XAF1,280 in the South West Region, farmers and traders said Monday.
