Export inspections for U.S. wheat have turned higher from last week, the Agriculture Department said.

In its latest grain export inspections report, the USDA said wheat export inspections totaled 591,725 metric tons for the week ended Feb. 23, up from 374,427 tons reported for the week ended Feb. 16.

Meanwhile, both corn and soybean export inspections fell from the previous week. Corn inspections totaled 572,622 tons versus 623,795 tons last week, while soybean inspections totaled 690,984 tons, down from 1.58 million tons.

The pace for corn export inspections continues to lag last year's pace, with 14.31 million tons inspected, now down 38% from this time last year.

Mexico was the lead destination for both U.S. corn and wheat shipments, while China was the lead destination for U.S. soybeans.

Grain futures trading on the CBOT are lower, with most-active corn futures down 0.9%, soybeans 0.6% lower and wheat down 1.6%.
