Weekly grain export sales reported by the Department of Agriculture landed on the high-end of analyst forecasts.

In its weekly export sales report Thursday, the USDA said that for the week ended Oct. 12, sales of wheat totaled 632,800 metric tons, while corn sales totaled 881,300 tons and soybean sales totaled 1.37 million tons. All three of these totals landed on the high end of forecasts by analysts surveyed by The Wall Street Journal this week.

China was the leading buyer of wheat and soybeans for the week, while Mexico was the leading buyer of corn.

Grain futures on the CBOT are mostly lower in early trading Thursday, with most-active corn futures down 0.1% and wheat down 0.3%. Soybeans are virtually unchanged.
