(Reuters) - Russia's current account surplus grew by almost 86% year-on-year in 2022 to $227.4 billion, preliminary data from the central bank showed on Tuesday.
"According to the preliminary estimate of the Bank of Russia, the current account surplus of the balance of payments of the Russian Federation in 2022 almost doubled compared to the previous year and amounted to $227.4 billion," the bank said.
The country's foreign trade surplus in goods and services also increased to $282.3 billion from $170.1 billion in 2021.
