"With the existence of more than 800,000 people, given the lack of water, partial lack of water creates a crisis. We are talking about summer and high temperatures, where one needs to shower at least once a day, wash one's clothes and utensils."

Um Usama Abu Amsha, displaced Gazan

:: "We suffer a lot for water, I get very tired getting the water from Zawayda area, getting a gallon of water, and diseases are spreading, the water is not clean, it is salty. We want clean water. I also suffer from kidney problems and urinary tract problems and I do not have money to buy filtered water."

The system provided water to 19 wells and two tanks supplying water to the residents of the area. The local population is now estimated at around 800,000 between residents and displaced people, Nizar Ayash, member of the local council, told Reuters.

Displaced people in Deir al-Balah have to now search for clean water or buy it, which is not an easy task according to Ayash, due to the war and the harsh living conditions faced by the population.
