April 3 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Governor Adriana Kugler on Wednesday said new businesses are producing a greater share of new jobs than prior to the pandemic.

"In the past two years, about 2 million jobs were created by these new businesses, about 150,000 jobs per month," and that is about 40% above the pre-pandemic trend, Kugler said in response to a question at an appearance at Washington University in St. Louis.

"It's unprecedented and it feeds directly into the dynamism of the U.S. economy," she said. (Reporting By Dan Burns Editing by Chris Reese)
