By BOSTON, Jan. 21, 2014 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Marcia Wagner, the Managing Director of The Wagner Law Group, announced that William Scogland has joined the law firm launching their Chicago office and Ellen Stone has joined the Boston office. The Wagner Law Group also has offices in the Miami area and San Francisco with clients in over 45 states and several foreign countries. "We can better serve our national and international clientele with four offices around the country," says Ms. Wagner. Mr. Scogland has over 30 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation. He is the former Chair of the U.S. Department of Labor, Advisory Council on Employee Welfare and Pension Benefit Plans. Mr. Scogland joins The Wagner Law Group from Jenner & Block, LLP where he was the practice leader of 10 attorneys and maintained responsibility for the firm's compensation and benefit matters. His experience includes counseling large pension plans and investment managers in investments by ERISA plans. He has extensive experience in funded welfare benefit plans and all areas of executive compensation.
Ellen Stone is a tax attorney with a background in ERISA and estate planning, and with extensive knowledge of employee benefit plan taxation and individual taxation, as well as estate and gift taxes. She was previously employed at Fresenius Medical Care North America Corporation, where she provided legal advice to human resource and benefits personnel regarding compliance with federal tax laws governing employee benefit plans. "Ellen's proven ability to research, analyze and articulate solutions to a wide variety of complex, technical tax issues will prove invaluable to our clients," says Ms. Wagner.
