NEW YORK, Jan. 21, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Women in Sports and Events (WISE), the leading voice and resource for women in the business of sports, today announced the three recipients of its 2015 WISE Women of the Year Awards. These winners will be recognized at the 21(st) Annual WISE Women of the Year Awards Luncheon on June 16, 2015 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.

The 2015 recipients are Amy Latimer, President TD Garden, Lara Price, Executive Vice President, Business Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers, and Mary Scott, President United Entertainment Group, an Edelman Company. These honorees were voted by WISE members across the country for their significant impact on the business of sports.

The 2015 WISE Women of the Year honorees are:


    --  Amy Latimer was promoted to president of TD Garden in 2012, where she is
        responsible for all day-to-day operations at one of the most active,
        highly regarded and successful sports and entertainment venues in North
        America. With almost two decades of knowledge and experience in the
        sports and arena industry, Latimer continues to champion the TD Garden
        as an industry innovator, overseeing the areas of premium service, fan
        experience and overall revenue generation. Prior to this role, she was
        Senior VP of Sales for the Boston Bruins. Latimer received her degree in
        political science from the University of Rhode Island, which she
        attended on a full basketball scholarship. She serves on the state board
        for the Salvation Army and Good Sports. She currently resides in
        Topsfield, Mass. with her husband, Jody, and their three sons.
    --  Lara Price serves as the EVP of business operations for the Philadelphia
        76ers and is currently in her 19th season with the organization. When
        she was elevated to vice president of marketing in August of 1998, Price
        became one of only 18 female vice presidents in the NBA and quickly
        moved up the ranks to her current position in 2014. Along with the CEO
        Scott O'Neil, CMO Tim McDermott and CRO Chris Heck, Price ensures the
        completion of all operational tasks and objectives as well as making
        sure the organization maximizes opportunities at a high quality level.
        She is the team's primary contact with the league office and servers as
        a liaison between the business and basketball sides of the organization,
        helping to maintain and enhance that relationship. A native of Boulder,
        Colo., Price is a graduate of Colorado State University, where she was a
        member of the women's basketball team.
    --  Mary Scott brings more than 25 years of experience in the sports
        industry, leading global and national campaigns and providing strategic
        communications counsel for some of the world's most recognized brands,
        leagues, sponsors and media companies. Scott has been with Edelman, the
        world's largest communications firm, for more than 15 years. In 2014,
        Mary was promoted to President of Sports & Experiential for United
        Entertainment Group (UEG), a sports, entertainment and experiential
        joint venture between Edelman, UEG and United Talent Association. Prior
        to joining Edelman, Scott worked for the National Football League, where
        she holds the distinction as one of the first females to hold a
        management position with the corporate communications division. Before
        her tenure at the NFL, she was with People & Properties, a sports and
        event marketing company working closely with the PGA and LPGA as well as
        professional tennis tournaments around the country. Scott is a graduate
        of the University of Massachusetts where she was captain of the
        nationally ranked women's lacrosse team.
