Vubiq Networks, Inc., an innovator in 60 GHz wireless broadband solutions, today announced a firmware upgrade for the company’s new HaulPass V60s broadband wireless connectivity system. The HaulPass V60s is an advanced 60 GHz millimeter wave broadband wireless solution that delivers low-latency, full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet transport speeds in a small, ruggedized, easy-to-install enclosure.

Available for immediate download, version 2.01.17 of the HaulPass V60s firmware provides a number of new features and capabilities, including:

  • Support for Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), allowing customers to tightly integrate the wireless infrastructure into their custom monitoring software
  • A proprietary Radio Frequency Management Information Base (RF MIB) that enables enhanced management capabilities for the HaulPass V60s
  • A single, unified web interface for all RF and Ethernet switch configuration and monitoring

Vubiq announced the new HaulPass V60s on October 12, 2015 as an enhanced version of the company’s previous HaulPass V60 product. The new HaulPass V60s is 50% smaller than the original, provides a 50% increase in range, and offers a number of software enhancements.

“Our HaulPass V60s uses the license-free 60 GHz millimeter wave radio band to support wireless Gigabit Ethernet connections at distances up to 750 meters,” said Aaron Baranoff, Chief Software Architect at Vubiq Networks. “And now with our new firmware upgrade, we are providing unprecedented flexibility, management and performance advantages for our customers.”

Featuring an integrated two-port Gigabit Ethernet switch, the HaulPass V60s is housed in a ruggedized outdoor enclosure designed for extreme weather operation. HaulPass V60s software enhancements include a new watchdog feature to minimize truck rolls in the event of power failures or human errors, a preconfigured RFC 2544 performance test, plus additional performance and security enhancements.

“The HaulPass V60s is a full-duplex solution offering two-gigabit aggregate throughput at very low latency,” said Mike Pettus, founder and CTO of Vubiq Networks. “This level of performance provides our customers with a higher return on their investment, which is further improved though our economic pricing structure and ease of deployment.”

HaulPass V60s customer applications include Gigabit Ethernet wireless fiber-optic extensions, wireless metropolitan area networks, and 4G/LTE mobile network backhaul applications.

The HaulPass V60s version 2.01.17 firmware upgrade is available immediately as a free download at www.vubiqnetworks.com/software-downloads.
