Effective January 15, 2017, cash transactions will no longer be accepted at Port of Virginia facilities. Eliminating cash transactions strengthens the port's accounting practices and contributes to the overall security of our colleagues.

In the past, cash was accepted for transactions including, but not limited to:

  • Cargo loading and unloading fees
  • Port ID badges
  • Escort transportation fees
  • Taking possession of imported personal vehicles

Beginning on January 15, payments must be made by wire transfer, automated clearing house (ACH), check or money order.

Credit and debit cards WILL NOT be accepted.

Questions regarding this policy should be directed to Megan Whitmore, Collections Manager, at 757-440-2649.

Thank you for your continued support.
