Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Newbury this morning.
It is alleged a light truck and car collided at the intersection of Greendale-Trentham and Beachs roads about 7.45am.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 30s, died at the scene.
The male driver of the truck was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The truck driver, a 24-year-old man from Grovedale has been charged with one count of dangerous driving causing death and has been remanded overnight to appear at Ballarat Magistrates' court tomorrow.
