VIB Vietnam International Commercial Joint Stock : Warning Phishing scams over the Internet

Dear all customers,

By updating warning information from Vietnam Hitech Crime Prevention Department (PC50) for Money transfer/ Internet Banking Services, VIB would like to warn you:

Recently, phishers have created fake Facebook accounts of customers' friends or relatives and request them to receive money through remittance forms. Then, customers will be given links to the fake inter-money transfer websites. By entering user name and password on the links, he/she has inadvertently provided information to the fraudsters initiating the transfer transaction on the bank's website.

To help customers understand the rules when using e-banking / internet banking transactions, please note the following:

SHOULD NOT:

1. Open or register e-banking account for someone else.
2. Send username, password, PIN, OTP or activation codes to anyone by any channel such as phone, email, social networks, websites, apps or unknown links...
3. Transfer or add money to the phone number appointed by other people to carry out the procedure of receiving the reward / promotion from the Bank.
4. Access unknown links and be careful with emails, messages, winnings or even warnings of suspected unauthorized access to your account which request for personal information and access to the service.
5. Use your username and password to access e-banking services as a password to access other banking systems.

SHOULD:

1. Change your password to e-banking/internet banking account regularly or immediately after entering suspected links or giving personal information to strangers.
2. Register to use SMS Banking to receive SMS messages to minimize the risk.
3. Log out the system after using e-banking services.
4. Inform VIB immediately as soon as having changes on your information (ID, passport); phone numbers using for SMS Banking, Internet Banking or losing your cell phone....and request to lock / cancel related services.
