UKIP United Kingdom Independence Party : While the job creators in small business struggle with EU red tape, the PM backs the big businesses

UKIP employment spokesman, Jane Collins MEP has attacked the Prime Minister over his call to EU leaders to back his 'big business' supported campaign for the UK to remain in the EU; saying, 'It is the real job creators in small and medium enterprises who shoulder the massive burden of crazy EU regulations, and it is these employers and workers who David Cameron should be fighting for.'

Speaking from Strasbourg, Ms Collins said, 'According to figures issued by the FSB, small businesses accounted for 99.3% of all private sector businesses at the start of 2015 and provided 60% of all private sector employment in the UK.'

'It is these people - the real job creators in our economy - that the Prime Minister should be backing and fighting for, rather than the large multinational conglomerates who are quite happy with the EU status quo.'

'If the Prime Minister was truly backing Britain, he would admit that his renegotiations are not going to get him anywhere and join those in his own party who have had the courage to say 'no more EU'.'

'In the EU's quest to control all aspects of our nation, it is SME's who are hit the hardest by red tape created in Brussels, despite 95% of them not even trading with the EU. This has a massive knock-on effect to employment across the country as money that could be spent on job creation is focused on ticking boxes.'
