PARSIPPANY, NJ--(Marketwired - Jan 21, 2014) - INTTRA, the world's largest multi-carrier e-commerce network for ocean shipping, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office recently issued a reexamination certificate confirming the validity of INTTRA's U.S. Patent No. 7,761,387, entitled "Common Carrier System." This patent covers key aspects of INTTRA's multi-carrier e-commerce platform for managing ocean container shipments. This marks the fourth INTTRA patent whose validity has been re-confirmed by the Patent Office in reexamination proceedings. Earlier this year, the Patent Office issued reexamination certificates confirming the validity of INTTRA's other "Common Carrier System" patents -- namely, U.S. Patent No. 7,752,142; U.S. Patent No. 7,756,794; and U.S. Patent No. 7,827,119. INTTRA's competitor, GT Nexus, Inc., initiated these reexamination proceedings to challenge the validity of the patents.

"INTTRA is pleased that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has confirmed the validity of all of our patents, confirmed new claims we submitted, including additional claims related to shipping instructions, and rejected efforts by a competitor to challenge these important patent rights," said Eric Winston, Senior Vice President and General Counsel, INTTRA.
