Hank Osowski, managing director of Strategic Health Group, has been named to the faculty of two healthcare conferences taking place next month in Florida that focus on the nation's growing dual-eligible population. Dual eligibles, those individuals who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid, are among the most vulnerable of all Americans and one of the highest and most costly utilizers of healthcare services.

At the fifth annual Medicaid Innovations Conference, February 4-6, in Orlando, Osowski will serve as program chair for a special day focused on the opportunities and challenges of dual-eligible integrated-care programs and ways to enhance care delivery to improve health and manage costs. As part of the day, Osowski will also take the podium and share his thoughts on "Keys to Success with Dual-Eligible Populations." The conference is sponsored by Strategic Solutions Network, the parent company of the Medical Innovations Forum. Further information and registration can be obtained at http://medicaidinnovations.com/index.html.

Later in February Osowski will address the Healthcare Education Associates' conference on Long-Term Care Management for Dual-Eligible Beneficiaries. Held February 24 in St. Augustine, Osowski will discuss "Best Practices in Care Coordination - Tools and Techniques for Efficient Long-Term Care Management" as it applies to dual eligibles. That conference is sponsored by Healthcare Education Associates, and information may be obtained at http://www.healthcare-conferences.com/conference.aspx?ccode=H202.

"Both conferences recognize the challenges our nation and our industry face as our population ages, and we continue to be confronted with arduous financial times," said Osowski. "By sharing best practices and taking a proactive approach to serving duals, we are taking the right steps toward furnishing the care these fellow Americans need while providing them the dignity and compassion they have earned over a lifetime."

A frequent speaker and author on critical issues facing Medicaid and Medicare, Osowski has provided leadership to commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plans for more than three decades. Prior to co-founding Strategic Health Group in 2011 with partner Dennis Eder, Osowski served as senior vice president of corporate development for SCAN Health Plan, the nation's fourth largest not-for-profit Medicare Advantage plan. Osowski has also served as a member of the senior management team at Blue Cross of California and as a principal in a national healthcare consulting organization providing a range of strategic, financial and development services for health plans, physician groups and hospitals.
