Parents and students will showcase their support for school choice in downtown Baltimore by passing out information and talking with passersby in honor of National School Choice Week.

Families and staff from the Children’s Scholarship Fund of Baltimore will raise awareness outside their office at 1000 Paul Street from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26.

This event is planned to coincide with the history-making celebration of National School Choice Week 2017, which will feature more than 21,000 school choice events across all 50 states.

“Many Baltimore parents, especially those who can’t afford private school tuition or a home in a better school district, want options for their kids’ education,” said Joanne Sanders, program administrator for the Children’s Scholarship Fund of Baltimore. “That’s where school choice comes in -- empowering parents, through scholarships and a variety of public school options, to choose the school that’s best for their kids.”

As a nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort, National School Choice Week shines a positive spotlight on effective education options for students, families, and communities around the country.
