The 2017 Renault Kangoo range features the power unit update. The previous 1.6 litre petrol engine is changed to the new all-aluminium 1.2 litre turbo-petrol engine. Meanwhile, the existing 1.5 litre turbo-diesel unit remains unchanged.

The 1.2 litre engine version outputs 190Nm (between 2,000-4,000rpm) and 84kW (at 4,500rpm). This is the same unit, which can be found inside the Renault Clio, Captur and Megane powertrains.

The all-aluminium construction contributes to a 10kg weight saving. This result provides the possibility of using as little as 6.2L/100km of petrol. In comparison with the old engine, the figure is 20% lower.

The Kangoo is considered to be a trustworthy vehicle in the family of Renault delivery vans, representing a good product at the right price.

The new petrol-powered Kangoo is mated to either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed dual-clutch (EDC) auto gearbox.
