The Finnish Film Foundation releases the results of a great year for Finnish film
It's official - the results are in and Red and his flock have definitely left their mark on the movie world for plucky Finland, their native country. As the Finnish Film Foundation reports, The Angry Birds Movie, with its worldwide box office soaring past the $350 million mark, is the most internationally successful Finnish film of all time.
The foundation also revealed that the three most watched movies in theaters in Finland during 2016 were all Finnish productions or co-productions, including The Angry Birds Movie. Thanks to engaged, loyal audiences and great local talent, Finland's film sector punches well above its weight.
