Tom Parker, III, M.D., chief medical officer, senior vice president and quality committee chair for Renal Ventures Management, LLC (RVM), will discuss advances in hemodialysis in presentations at two major kidney disease and dialysis conferences.

Dr. Parker, a nationally recognized expert on kidney dialysis, works with industry thought leaders on methods and strategies for the improvement of dialysis care. Through his leadership and work with RVM, Dr. Parker fosters innovative thinking to advance standards of dialysis care and improve patient outcomes. His mission includes detailed evaluation of every parameter of patient care, including better measurement of patient hematocrit volumes to prevent anemia and the transition of patients to peritoneal dialysis to lower short-term infection and mortality risks.

At the National Kidney Foundation of Florida's 11th Annual Renal Professional Forum, Dr. Parker will present, What is Killing Your Patients? It is not what you think! on Friday, February 7, at 1:00 p.m. at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Orlando. Dr. Parker will address attendees about critical factors in the quality of patient care.

At the 34th Annual Dialysis Conference, Dr. Parker is the featured presenter for, Really Changing Patients' Lives: Moving Beyond Kt/V and Other Metrics on Sunday, February 9, at 10:45 a.m. at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. Dr. Parker will discuss strategies to prevent sodium overload through variable sodium reintroduction practices.

Dr. Parker is a well-known figure in the nephrology field. He was a founding member of Dallas Nephrology Associates in 1974 and served as Medical Director for one of the first outpatient hemodialysis facilities in the U.S. Dr. Parker also developed the Dallas Transplant Institute, one of the largest and most advanced renal transplantation facilities in the U.S. He has also published more than 100 papers focused on dialysis prescription, delivery and quality of care.

As the chief medical officer for Renal Ventures management, Dr. Parker continues to help shape the company as an innovator in the nephrology field.
