PURE Bioscience, Inc. (OTCQB: PURE), creator of the patented silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) antimicrobial, has published a Norovirus Technical Bulletin highlighting the unique and powerful effectiveness of EPA-registered PURE® Hard Surface disinfectant and food contact surface sanitizer and its use to prevent and kill the Norovirus in 60 seconds. The bulletin was published in response to recent Norovirus media coverage (including the Wall St. Journal, ABC News, and The Today Show) about the highly contagious and rapidly spreading virus.

Preventing Transmission of Norovirus

Norovirus is the leading cause of gastroenteritis outbreaks in the U.S. This virus is extremely contagious and can infect anyone by transmission of contaminated food, water, surfaces or another person. Infected food workers cause about 70% of reported Norovirus outbreaks by adulterating ready-to-eat foods.

PURE Hard Surface is being used for Norovirus protection by a number of national restaurant chains, including its recent adoption by Chipotle Mexican Grill, in addition to a growing number of food manufacturers and processors.

According to the CDC, taking all necessary precautions to prevent transmission is crucial. Key to preventing the transmission of rapidly spreading Norovirus (especially in close quarters such as restaurants, hospitals, nursing homes, schools and cruise ships) is the frequent use of an effective EPA registered antimicrobial to clean and disinfect surfaces - especially on high-touch surfaces.

PURE Hard Surface: The Right Choice

  • EPA-registered PURE Hard Surface disinfectant and food contact surface sanitizer is effective in eliminating Norovirus from surfaces in addition to many other viruses, bacteria and fungi.
  • PURE Hard Surface eliminates Norovirus in 60-seconds and completely kills other resistant pathogens like MRSA and VRE and also effectively eliminates dangerous fungi and viruses including Hep B, Hep C, HIV, Influenza A, Avian Influenza and H1N1 and is compliant with OSHA Bloodborne Pathogen standards.
  • PURE Hard Surface also provides 24-hour residual protection.
  • PURE Hard Surface is registered for use on food contact surfaces without a rinse and is gentle enough to be used in childcare areas.

Hank R. Lambert, Chief Executive Officer, recently said that he looks forward to 2017 being a breakout year for PURE. The Company is uniquely positioned to offer solutions to the industry’s most pressing challenges of implementing preventive controls and environmental monitoring; reducing the risks of food contamination and foodborne illness outbreaks, and the attendant financial and legal consequences; and protecting companies’ most valuable assets, their brands.

About PURE Bioscience, Inc.

PURE Bioscience, Inc. is focused on developing and commercializing our proprietary antimicrobial products primarily in the food safety arena -- providing solutions to the health and environmental challenges of pathogen and hygienic control. Our technology platform is based on patented stabilized ionic silver, and our initial products contain silver dihydrogen citrate, or SDC. SDC is a broad-spectrum, non-toxic antimicrobial agent, which offers 24-hour residual protection and formulates well with other compounds. As a platform technology, SDC is distinguished from existing products in the marketplace because of its superior efficacy, reduced toxicity and it mitigates bacterial resistance. PURE is headquartered in El Cajon, California (San Diego metropolitan area). Additional information on PURE is available at www.purebio.com.
