During the meeting, the minister reviewed firsthand the situation of these companies in the American market in the banking, transport, defence, energy, telecommunications, insurance, financial services, energy, renewable energies, leisure parks, infrastructure, meat product wrapping, legal advice and consultancy sectors and exchanged opinions on the economic outlook this year in light of the economic policies announced by the new United States Administration.

The Chairman of Acciona and President of the Spain-United States Council Foundation, José Manuel Entrecanales, headed up the business delegation. The participating business leaders expressed their gratitude for this opportunity to talk with the government on the perspectives opening up in a highly important market for everyone and agreed that the United States continues to offer good business opportunities in the medium and long term given the economic growth being enjoyed by both countries.

Economic relations between Spain and the USA have experienced significant growth over the last 10 years, with our portfolio of investments in the country exceeding 66 billion euros, while bilateral trade stands at the figure of around 25 billion euros. For its part, the United States is the leading foreign investor in Spain with a portfolio of close on 70 billion euros and our sixth largest trading partner.
